News Prompt Fest Betas
As we compile a list of prompts for Prompt Fest 2012, we hope to generate a list of people who would be interested in beta work. You may both beta and enter the fest or simply beta alone. If you are interested, please reply, including an email address if you are not a registered member. Thanks! Comments Story Length You Will Beta: Anything except epic length fics . . . Agreement with lastcrazyhorn's comment. No explicit MA content, etc is allowed on the site. But still a mention that you prefer not to beta something (even if its the non-explicit variety) is important. I would have to take a pass on that as well.

I would be thrilled to beta! I prefer multiple chapter stories, though I won't turn away a oneshot. I am good with all aspects of writing, including typographical errors, but most enjoy working on character and plot development, and how to best tweak a sentence to get the exact meaning across that the author intends. I love pyschological terror, horror, and angsty stories, and an older Harry (Year 4+). The darker (and Darker) and more mature the better. Since I notice some specify not wanting to beta rape, I should specify that I will beta anything and everything. For what it's worth, I am a 3rd-year English Writing major, have been editor of a large school magazine, and hope to help people in editing throughout my life. A job as an actual publishing editor would be absolutely wonderful! I will not be writing for this contest but still am keen to participate in some fashion; and since I love betaing almost more than I love writing, this is perfect. - ForgottenEllipses on 17 Feb 2012 5:46 am
I'd definitely like to beta for this! I'll take any story length and any content (dark fics and slash included), though I'd prefer no OFC pairings with any canon characters.

I'm available for SPaG as well as more extensive beta-ing duties--characterization, plot, etc. Though I'm American, I can help out with at least entry-level brit-picking (I know the difference between "practise" and "practice" and if you say, "oh, that's easy, practise is the British spelling," you need me). I'll definitely be willing to beta for this; though I haven't the patience to write a fic, I do quite enjoy making good writing better.
Story Length: All
Stuff I won't do: Particularly descriptive rape, any slash. Pairing is okay, as are implications of rape, but as soon as it gets descriptive...uh-uh. I don't mind other forms of abuse, though.
