Reviews For The Forgotten Child
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. As for when/if people will find out, I can't say. I haven't written that far ahead, but I can say that if it does happen it won't be for quite a while yet. Thanks for the review.
Author's Response: Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. The Trace won't work for other reasons, which would be explained later. Also, you said I was foreshadowing events quite a lot, however to my knowledge I have not foreshadowed much at all, only enabled my readers to make assumptions. Could you please tell me some examples and what parts is "so much", in case I missed something? And I am very curious to understand your comment. Thank you for your feedback :)
Author's Response: Yeah? I'm glad you like the characters themelves, however, in for their names and the reasoning behind their selections: please see the edited end author's notes of chapter 20. Thanks!
I also like the way you've already started molding these characters and making them seem so three dimensional in such a short time. I'm already very intriguied by Casey. I wonder what his background is. At first I thought he was another Malfoy, classic blonde hair and skepticism for Muggles, but perhaps it is not quite so. And I wonder what Logan's and Conner's problems are! I mean really, talk about a bad first impression. I look forward to getting to know each of these new characters. Haylee seems very sweet and for some reason, I imagine Oscar will be a more comedic character. Hey, was the Casey the son of those strange people you once mentioned in a chapter? As for the sorting, my personal preference would be towards Slytherin not just because it is Severus's house but also because Harry had to fight for survival for a part of his childhood. I feel that Gryffindor doesn't seem to fit him very well because he's not exactly a loud running head first into a situation type of boy. Anyways, I look forward to reading more about the Sorting. Also, is Severus going to be there for Harry's sorting. I thought that since he's going to be a professor there (one can assume), he would show up. I'm so glad to hear that the wait won't be too long for the next chapter. I'm looking forward to reading more! :)

I'm really pleased Harry's emotions translated well, as I really wanted to show what it was like for him at that moment of time. I loved reading your review, though I always do! Casey isn't another Malfoy, no. Logan and Conner...well, every character I have shown will be explored throughout the story, so you'll learn more about them all as time goes along. Haylee is sweet, though. She's very kind and friendly. Oscar...haha, yeah. As for the son of the mentioned "people", I cannot reveal that yet. Your guess is interesting, though. I can't say what house I placed Harry into, as you'll find out soon, though back when I wrote the next chapter I spent a while reasoning it out to make sure it fit the story and his upbringing. Your facts were part of the consideration, so kudos for that. I think you'll enjoy the sorting ceremony - I did try to make the event itself more unique to this story, including a sorting song of my creation that will be part of the overall story plots. Severus is not a professor in this story, which will be detailed on in the next chapter. Therefore, due to this and other factors, he will not be there to watch Harry be sorted. Neither will Erin. I also wanted Harry to go through it on his own, without his parents for the first time in a long time. Thank you very much for your review, it provided me insight and entertainment. I will be updating again when I can, likely a couple days from now. I'm thrilled you're looking forward to reading more. Thanks, again! |
