NOTE (2011) - I'm in the process of uploading revised chapters of O Mine Enemy (typos & minor revisions - nothing changing the story or major events). What this means is that I am overcoming a several-year writing drought to get back into the habit of writing fiction. This unfinished story has haunted me since I left it, and my Harry and Snape deserve an ending to their tale. NOTE (2009) - To those of you who have expressed concern over my story O Mine Enemy, I want to extend a sincere apology for not having updated in so long. Despite appearances, I have never considered this story abandoned. In the past year I have gone through two international moves, causing me to make other things in my life a priority over this story. I have, however, mapped out the remainder of O Mine Enemy in my head, and I do periodically review and add to my notes. Now that my life has settled down, it is only a matter of getting back into the writing habit - easier said than done, I am discovering! I want to thank all of my readers from the bottom of my heart for not sending me mean or nasty reviews as I have seen left on some stories that have lagged. I'm so proud that I have such polite, concerned and loyal readers! If you have any comments or suggestions to help me get started up again, please don't hesitate to write. The more I am reminded that I still have readers wanting to follow my story, the more motivated I become. Hi to anyone who is reading this! I have been lurking around fanfiction sites (primarily ff.net and potionsandsnitches.net) ever since I finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and wanted more! It's so fun to find gems of stories by truly talented writers. I read so many stories about Snape and Harry (my favorite duo, barring slash) that I think I exhausted the pool. So I figure...if you can't find more of what you want to read, write it yourself! :) I've been doing that for a while now, just starting to post. Hope you'll read it and tell me what you think! Just FYI - Some little tidbits about me that might affect what you read in my Harry Potter world: 1. I love what I am, but I'm sorry, it's not British. I'll use the terms that I know, but if not everything is exactly the way you Brits out there like it, I'm sorry. I'm focusing more on the content of my story, and I hope you'll still enjoy it. 2. I have two jobs and go to school. So I write as often as I can and I have a schedule for myself, but I can't promise a specific length or timeline for updates...each week is a little bit different. But I do solemnly promise you that barring death or serious injury, any story I post here WILL be completed. I make sure that I have the major scenes and arc of the story down before I post, because I know as a reader how frustrating it can be to get into stories by an author who doesn't complete them. 3. I don't hold stories ransom for reviews. Review it or not, if I post it here, I'll finish it here. But like any author, reviews do make me happy. :) As much as I like to write anyway, nice and/or constructive reviews put a big goofy grin on my face and make me want to finish the next chapter even quicker so I can read more of them. Hehe...reviews are like my chocolate. ;) 4. None of my stories will feature slash. 'nuff said. Ok, if you made it this far, stop reading my profile and get to the story! Snape's more interesting than I am, anyway. He's got that great dark sarcastic thing going for him. Instant Owlers: Reviews by Kirby Lane
When Harry appears at the Welcoming Feast wearing a glamor only Snape notices, Snape decides to find out what the glamor is hiding. His investigation leads to a number of shocking revelations---both about The Boy Who Lived, and about Snape's understanding of himself. Sixth year AU.

It took me a bit to get used to the present tense in your writing since it's not the most common, but you keep it consistent, and it really works well. Good job! I also had to comment that I loved this part: "The boy's head jerks up from over his cauldron, and his eyes meet Snape's, wary and a little fearful. Despite the fact that the first sixth year Potions class of the term is nearly over and no one in it has provided Snape a single excuse to take points from Gryffindor, the boy's look is enough to fill him with a warm, satisfied glow." Hehe! I love that - fearful student eyes being Snape's key to happiness! Right on! Author's Response: THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY. Because I love "O Mine Enemy" so very very much, any approval from you is immensely valued.
And I'm glad you liked that line, I keep putting things into the story that make me laugh and I have to wonder if I have the world's strangest sense of humor or if anyone else is laughing with me...:)
Poor Harry, dealing with a promise-breaking Snape. Now mind, I understand why he called the headmaster, but I'm so mad at him for promising he wouldn't when he knew all along he would! Bad Snape! Bad Snape!
Anyway, I really loved this chapter - everyone was so great. I loved how gentle, yet furious Dumbledore was at the same time. And how snape-like Snape was, though you could see his concern. Well done!
I do hope Harry is okay...but seeing as how there's a sequel... :)
I am compelled to convey my appreciation of your story and to relate that your compendious prose has convinced me of your exceptional proficiency in the art of storytelling. :) So therefore, I am sharing with you...CHOCOLATE! By the pound! For YOU!!!! Because I LOVE that reviews are like chocolate, don't you?!?! :) :) Good chapter - I loved the letter! It was so incredibly great how Snape could be so clever and insulting and caring and insufferably smart all at once. :) I can't wait to see what Harry comes up with... (Dare i admit that I stole a glance at the next story already? But I haven't read more than the first couple paragraphs because I forced myself to come back and finish this last chapter first, even though I desperately want to know what happens!) So here I go... :) Author's Response: *huge idiotic grin*
You absolutely make my day, you know that? Harry is 7 years old and treated literally like a dog by the Dursleys. Will he be rescued by the wizarding world? Will he ever be fit to take on the mantle of The Boy Who Lived? Now Complete!
