I have been writing fan fiction for the Harry Potter series since 2007.  I blame my boss, who told me about this wonderful, whacky world of fans writing impossible stories for tales that they love.  I generally write strange pairings when i'm not focused on the fguardian relationship between harry and Severus.  My other works can be found on Archive of Our Own under the same pen-name, though be warned, some are fairly dark.

I am a red head (go gingers!), a dog groomer by trade, close to half a century old, and am also an avid animal lover.  In my spare time, I care for three dogs and a husband who is not only odd, but comes from the island of Borneo.  While he doesn't share my affinity for telling tales, he does love animals and has a terrific sense of humor that shows itself at odd times.  I am the proud step-monster to three children and step-grandmonster to one and half grandchildren  (My oldest daughter is due in September! (Woot!)

    I do like how you're portraying Snape, but I still wish that he had LISTENED to Harry about the gifts. That was the one thing in canon that I found most irritating. Snape should have known neglect when he saw it.

    Author's Response: Yes, he's very frustrating that way. He has blinders on and he will only see and hear what he expects. Harry, unfortunately, has learned not to share too much (even with his best friends) and throws these statements out in a way that makes it easy for others to dismiss. Obviously, I'll try to nudge Snape toward having a better understanding of Harry's childhood. For now he's just filing the info away.

    I think Snape is beginning to suspect that not everything that comes out of Harry's mouth is a lie or exaggeration. Good job on the chapter.

    Aw, Remus had a crush on a teacher. That's so sweet.

    Loved the chapter, and thanks for sharing it. It was good that even Severus got to drink to Sirius' memory. They may not have gotten on in life, but his sacrifice meant a great deal to both Harry and Severus.

    Oh my god. I'm still laughing. My Little Ponies are insidious, evil and quite outside the realm of a fair prank war. Your Dumbledore is Evil with a capital E.

    I liked the subtle hints of admiration you showed for Hermione by Severus. I LOVED that Harry had to be silenced by a charm before either Hermione or Snape hexed him.

    The Howler was just sweetness, but the Green charm was brilliant. Loved the story, loved the characterisations and I LOVED the My little ponies.

    Author's Response: <eg>  Thank You.  That was the most embarassing thing I could think of for the collection...but I just couldn't force poor Snape to actually collect the things of his own free will; thus Dumbledore.  I figured Harry's reaction would be a lot like mine was, whent he idea first hit!  ::still snickering::

    I honestly wanted to see more of their life in New Zealand. This really was a great fic, and the thought of Snape taking Harry away from the 'destiny' that Dumbledore had lined up for him, even if he didn't have his magic, was enchanting. I loved that Hermione was smart enough to see how the situation was going to go down, and left. Too bad for the Weasleys.
